Introduction to Youth Social Entrepreneurship (YSE) Award

It is often said, “It takes a village to raise a child”. We believe that it takes a youth to change a village. YSE award is designed to create and unleash young social entrepreneurs with powerful ideas to bring lasting change in the lives of forgotten and marginalized people. We identify, orient, engage and invest in young people with high commitment to start-up a social change program in their communities. Pakistan is facing serious challenges to harness the potential and energies of its youth in constructive activities. Due to little or no opportunities young people are caught in multitude of problems. They are seeking for opportunities to improve their image, position and status in the society. We believe that if we continue to desert our young people we will continue to get the same poor results. It is need of the time to bring change in our thinking and instead of looking down and walking-by our young people we should treat them as an asset for building a new societal structure. Young people are waiting for someone to believe in them. They are looking for opportunities to validate their intelligence. YSE award is an exciting opportunity for youth to unleash their ideas and assume central leadership role in their communities. It is designed to help youth to be Changemakers in their communities. There are many young people in Pakistan who are looking for a glimmer of hope and an opportunity to prove themselves and bring change in their lives. YSE award is just for them. We define a Young Social Entrepreneur as someone:

• Who is very passionate, enthusiastic and keen to serve his/her community.
• Who is very concerned to improve or meet unmet service needs of his/her community members.
• Who enables and empowers others regardless of color, creed and religion.
• Who seizes every opportunity to galvanize resources for addressing the recognized problem of his/her community.
• Who is committed to serve on sustained basis.
• Who is ready to go against the flow.
• Who is living with the negative and is following the positive.
• Who produces wealth to assist in helping others.

YSE Award aims at promoting Social Entrepreneurship among marginalized and under privileged youth to address social, economic and environmental problems. It is a powerful way to solve burning issues and for achieving sustainable development of our communities.  Apply now
