“There are some people in our community who are constantly demoralizing us by saying that we will not be able to run this center successfully. I am very happy that in spite of their negative advocacy we have an excellent start.”  Shakeela Yaqub

“When we started our computer center a few of the local women tried to convince us that your center cannot change the lives of girls, after all at the end of the day they have to get married and do their house chores. We have tried to convince them that an educated girl can take care of her family better than an ignorant girl. Moreover it will increase her confidence, skills and abilities to take control of her life as well as to accomplish many other things in life.” Abida Ibrahim

“My whole family was deadly against the idea of starting a beautician center. I convinced my husband and with his support I have established a beautician Center.” Nazia

“After completing my matriculation examination, I wanted to continue my education but was not able to continue owing to financial reasons, when I went to motivate the parents of one of my friends, they replied you could not continue your education by convincing your parents how could you think that we will listen and agree to you. I was very disappointed. I came back and convinced my parents that it will not be a burden on the family if I will continue my education. I am happy to share with you that my parents have agreed to allow me to continue my education." Saima Enyat

"One of the teachers in our village challenged us that we will not be able to accomplish anything in our community, as according to him everything is lost and has reached a point of no-return. We accepted the challenge and did not give up and with the grace of God we are moving ahead successfully."Abda Ibraheem

“I had many moments of huge disappointment and frustration while motivating parents and community members to send their children to school. Many people of my community tried to dishearten me by passing on to me highly sarcastic remarks but I never gave up. I tried to work harder. I am happy that in spite of all this we have been able to gather support to start a school.” Ms. Rabia

“When we had started our school, we faced many terse comments from the community members. The community members used very harsh words for us like you (girls) cannot establish and run a school. Nobody will send their children to your school. We accepted the challenge and worked day and night to make sure that we had a good start. Now we are running our school successfully and many of those people who used to pass sarcastic remarks on us started admitting that girls are also capable of doing everything.”Ms. Kubra Anwar

“We are facing many challenges in running the school. We are working hard to meet all these challenges. We have convinced parents of 25 children to send their children to our school. Out of 25 three of them are from very poor families and cannot pay us a nominal fee but we agreed to provide them free of cost education. Parents of these children pray for us all the time and have become a good advocator for us.” Ms. Raheena Kausor

“The people of our locality discouraged us by saying that that you are not capable of starting and running a beauty parlor. They also said us that they will never allow their daughters to join us and become like us. You are a shame. In spite of all these harsh comments we did not give up and work together to make our dream a reality. Now we are happy that we have started our center and it is going on very well." Ms. Saba Ashraf

“I love making drawings. I used to make drawings on my copies. When we established a computer center I felt very motivated to start making drawings on it. It was the happiest moment of my life when first time I made a drawing on computer. Now I don’t have to buy copies and pencils from the market for making drawings." Ms. Satara

“Life is full of challenges. When I started our computer center I was strongly discouraged by many people of my community. They warned me that no one will come and join your center. With the grace of God today we have 10 students in our center and I am very optimistic with our hard work and commitment and I hope that the number will increase in future." Rabia Kausar

“I was feeling so tired of performing household tasks. When I told my parents that I will start learning computer soon they did not discourage me but many of my community members said many harsh comments about my intention of learning computer. They said what have you accomplished after completing your graduation degree, you are sitting in your home and now you want to learn computer how it will make a difference in your life. I did not listen to them and started attending the computer class regularly. I know that one day I will make a difference.” Ms. Farhat Abdul Majeed

"The greatest benefit for me by joining Functional Committee of PNYS is that now I can start the treatment of my seriously ill father. We were not able to purchase medicine for him before but now with the help of PNYS program I can contribute in the treatment of my father, for which I am very grateful to PNYS." Ms. Sonia

"After joining Functional Committee, I have been able to generate some income which I am using for meeting the educational expenses of my younger brothers and sister. My mother died sometime ago and my father re-married. There is no one to look after us. My elder brother was discouraging me always by saying that you could not perform this duty. I accepted his challenge and decided to work wholeheartedly to meet this challenge." Ms Munaza

"After joining Functional Committee I can bear all my educational expenses. For me this is the biggest change in my life." Ms Nageena
